매년 KCPC 교회의 주관으로 버지니아와 메릴랜드 KADPA 장애인 가정들이 함께하는 에버그린 캠프(Evergreen Camp)가 올해도 많은 관심과 참여 속에 성황리에 진행되었습니다.
에버그린 캠프는 장애인과 그 가족들이 일상에서 잠시 벗어나 함께 쉬고, 웃고, 새로운 경험과 추억을 나눌 수 있도록 마련된 2박 3일간의 특별한 여름 캠프입니다. 매년 새로운 테마와 다양한 프로그램으로 진행되며, 올해는 “월드컵(World Cup)”을 테마로 장애인 참가자와 가족, 그리고 많은 봉사자들이 한자리에 모였습니다.
올해 캠프에서도 캠프파이어를 비롯해 장기자랑, 축구 경기, 수영, 버블쇼 등 다채로운 프로그램이 이어졌습니다. 참가자들은 함께 뛰고 응원하며 즐거운 시간을 보냈고, 무대에서는 각자의 재능과 끼를 마음껏 보여주며 잊지 못할 추억을 만들었습니다.
부모님들도 캠프의 즐거움에 함께했습니다. 아이들과 봉사자들을 위해 직접 바비큐를 준비하고, 노래자랑에도 참여하며 모두가 한 가족처럼 어울리는 따뜻한 시간을 보냈습니다. 곳곳에서 들리는 웃음과 응원 속에서 장애인과 비장애인, 부모와 봉사자가 자연스럽게 하나가 되는 모습을 볼 수 있었습니다.
에버그린 캠프는 단순한 여름 행사를 넘어, 우리 장애인 친구들이 일 년 동안 손꼽아 기다리는 특별한 시간이기도 합니다. 익숙한 친구들을 다시 만나고 새로운 친구와 봉사자들을 만나며, 마음껏 뛰고 웃을 수 있는 이 2박 3일은 참가자와 가족 모두에게 소중한 추억으로 남았습니다.
이처럼 뜻깊은 시간이 가능하도록 오랜 시간 정성과 사랑으로 준비해 주신 KCPC 교회와 모든 관계자분들, 그리고 캠프 기간 동안 장애인 참가자들과 함께하며 아낌없는 사랑과 도움을 나누어 주신 모든 봉사자분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다.
여러분의 따뜻한 마음과 손길 덕분에 2026 에버그린 캠프도 웃음과 행복이 가득한 특별한 시간이 될 수 있었습니다.

2026 Evergreen Camp
– A Special World Cup-Themed Weekend Together
The annual Evergreen Camp, hosted by KCPC for KADPA families from Virginia and Maryland, once again brought together individuals with disabilities, their families, and dedicated volunteers for a memorable three-day, two-night summer experience.
Each year, Evergreen Camp is created around a new theme with a variety of activities designed to give participants and their families an opportunity to step away from their daily routines, enjoy time together, build friendships, and create lasting memories. This year’s theme was the “World Cup,” bringing an extra spirit of teamwork, celebration, and togetherness to the camp.
Throughout the weekend, participants enjoyed a wide variety of activities, including a campfire, talent show, soccer games, swimming, a bubble show, and many other fun-filled programs. Campers had opportunities to play, cheer for one another, showcase their talents, and simply enjoy being together.
Parents were also an important part of the celebration. They prepared barbecue for the campers and volunteers, joined in the singing and festivities, and helped create a warm atmosphere where everyone could feel like part of one big family. Laughter and encouragement could be heard throughout the camp as participants, parents, and volunteers shared each experience together.
More than just an annual summer event, Evergreen Camp has become one of the most anticipated times of the year for many of our participants with disabilities. It is a special opportunity to reconnect with familiar friends, meet new volunteers and friends, enjoy new experiences, and spend a few days simply having fun together.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to KCPC, all of the organizers and staff who worked tirelessly to prepare this meaningful event, and especially the many volunteers who generously shared their time, energy, and care with our participants and families.
Because of your dedication and kindness, the 2026 Evergreen Camp was once again filled with friendship, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
